Successfully educating students for over 45 years!
Lighthouse Christian Academy (LCA) is the official distance-learning provider for ACEM® and exclusively uses the A.C.E. curriculum and program for enrolled students in Levels K–12. Students in private schools and homeschools both have the opportunity to earn an accredited diploma through LCA.
LCA Services
Diagnostic Testing
Students enrolled in LCA are given diagnostic tests to determine skill and concept mastery. Enrolled families are assigned an experienced academic advisor who evaluates the diagnostic tests and prescribes curriculum based on the student’s individual needs. Weak areas (gaps) are strengthened first; then the student continues, progressing at his achievement level.
Projected Course of Study
LCA offers four courses of study for high school students to pursue. The College Preparatory Course of Study is recommended for most students. Ability and motivation will determine which of these paths will suit each student. When choosing a course of study, each student should consider the entrance requirements for the college he plans to attend. College admission is ultimately the responsibility of the student. A minimum of six credit hours must be earned through Lighthouse Christian Academy preceding graduation. Click on the courses of study listed below to view a PDF document of the course requirements.
For more information about the courses of study, please refer to the LCA Student Handbook (PDF).
Progress Reports
Academic records are maintained based on tests and grades submitted by the parent. Progress Reports (Report Cards) are prepared and sent to the parent at the end of each semester.
Standardized Testing
Standardized testing allows a student's academic progress to be assessed annually. The Iowa Assessments are used by LCA to measure a student's actual achievement within his or her ability.
Earn College Credit
Students have the opportunity to earn college credit through Accelerated College of the Bible International (ACBI) while enrolled in LCA.
Official Transcripts and Enrollment Verification
LCA maintains a permanent school record for each student. Official transcripts are sent to schools and colleges as requested. Enrollment verification is also provided as needed.
Accredited Diploma
LCA is pleased to provide for students a recognized level of accreditation that is both regional and international in its scope. LCA provides accredited diplomas for students that have met all graduation requirements. Accreditation aids students as they participate in sports programs, apply for federal grants, or pursue admission to colleges.
LCA diplomas are accredited through three accreditation agencies:
- Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS)
- National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA)
- Accreditation International (Ai)
Ai is a recognized member in good standing with the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and the International Council for Education.
Graduation Ceremony
The LCA graduation ceremony is a formal ceremony held each spring for the graduating seniors who choose to participate. Please contact your Academic Advisor for further information. These exciting occasions feature graduates in caps and gowns, a special guest commencement speaker, and an opportunity to meet your Lighthouse Christian Academy staff.
Graduation Requirements

Class Rings
LCA students have the opportunity to order a class ring through Jostens. To purchase a class ring, visit jostens.com, and place your order from their website. All purchases, agreements, and warranties of class rings are guaranteed by Jostens. A.C.E. School of Tomorrow and Lighthouse Christian Academy are outside parties and cannot be held legally responsible for any and all purchases executed through Jostens.
On the surface, most schools look alike—buildings, personnel, curriculum, and budgets. The A.C.E. program is different. For over 50 years, it has been the trendsetter in Biblical educational reform. Its philosophy is built on basic principles of the Word of God. Students are taught to see life from God’s point of view, to take responsibility for their own learning, and to walk in Godly wisdom and character. A.C.E. School of Tomorrow is not just a publisher but a comprehensive Bible-based program that serves both the campus-based school and the homeschool.
Students enrolled in LCA have the great opportunity to get involved in A.C.E. Student Conventions and ACEM Student Programs. These programs allow students to build character and learn leadership skills outside the home or Learning Center. Click the links below to learn more about each program.
